The firm Gerd Althofer Consulting Architect was established in 1984 to provide comprehensive architectural planning and consulting services specifically in the complex area of trading room and associated technical furniture design. Initially focused on the financial services industry, the firm is expanding to plan and design academic finance laboratories as well.

Since the firm’s inception, Gerd Althofer Consulting Architect has planned well over one hundred trading rooms for some of the nation’s leading financial institutions as well as foreign banks, both here and abroad, with an aggregate total of over ten thousand trading positions.

Through years of practical experience, we understand the language of traders as well as the requirements of voice and data communications. We equally understand the unique acoustical and lighting requirements of the trading environment.

We now bring this knowledge and experience to the academic finance lab environment.
